What does “COINTELPRO” mean?

I recently witnessed a bizarre chain of events which prompted me to look up the word “COINTELPRO.”  I’ve heard this word bantered around quite a bit in the truth movement, and basically thought it meant Counter-Intelligence-Professional.  Basically someone who understood the position of the group involved, who would plant seeds of doubt and create disturbances within the group. 
I looked up COINTELPRO on Wikipedia, and it actually stands for Counter-Intelligence-Program.  “COINTELPRO was a series of covert, and often illegal, projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at investigating and disrupting dissident political organizations within the United States. The FBI used covert operations from its inception, however formal COINTELPRO operations took place between 1956 and 1971. The FBI’s stated motivation at the time was “protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order.”

So that definition also makes sense, but in the specific situation I recently witnessed, I think possibly my definition and understanding of the term COINTELPRO may be more fitting.  One of my Facebook friends recently posted a couple of very disturbing video’s involving Alex Jones of InfoWars.com.  Before I post the video’s I just want to preface them with a little more information for those new to the truth movement.

Alex Jones and his website InfoWars.com was very instrumental in helping me wake up.  As I shared in my blog post “Glenn Beck Headline News“, after listening to a very interesting Coast2CoastAM radio program where George Noory was interviewing Jim Marrs, the film consultant to the Oliver Stone JFK film, I then followed a link that brought me to Mr. Jones site.

In the comments section of an article, there was a discussion going on between a skeptical argumentative lady, and a very patient man regarding the GREAT 9/11 documentary “September Clues.”  It was a life changing film for me.  It’s where I had my “wake up” moment and life was never the same for me afterwords. It is not easy to have to face such a horrid reality. However, I would rather live in TRUTHFUL reality, than in the deceptive Republican fairy tale world I was living in.  Because that’s what that party was for me.  One big fairy tale.  And unfortunately for many of Mr. Jones followers, I believe they are going to have to face the same reality.

For those of you new to the truth movement, hold on to your seats. I also want to say this is in NO way representative of those of us working hard to expose corruption… wherever it may be.

And just want to mention I won’t watch the next video ever again,

because I can’t physically slap this man across the face while watching it online.

But it got even worse…

So if you know who Alex Jones is, you have to ask what the hell was he doing?  And why?  And of all people, he had to know these video’s would be going up on YouTube.  Could it be because Alex himself is COINTELPRO?  Or as seen in this new video addendum to September Clues, is the TRUTH MOVEMENT just all about money for Alex Jones???

I find it ironic Alex got busted by his own modus operandi, the video camera. In a weird way it almost makes me think he staged the whole thing just to piss everyone off. That, and also hurt the truth movement if he is indeed working for the other side. He did a great job acting like a moron.  And if I hadn’t seen him walk up to the original group and be so blatantly rude, I’m not sure I would have understood the magnitude of this situation.

Here is a “man” preaching on the radio every day to get out there and rally for the cause. Turns out he is the biggest disruptor of all. How sad and embarrassing for him, as it appears he either can’t admit he was wrong or will force the issue by trying to discredit anyone speaking poorly of him.  Unfortunately I’ve found some of his supporters are making excuses for him. I’m glad I had the opportunity to witness this, as I’ve had doubts about Mr. Jones sincerity after doing further research about him online.  Never anyone else on his crew though, like Jason Bermas or Luke Rudowski.  I admire both of these young men  very much, and I think their intent is pure.  But there comes a time when principle is involved, and one has to move on.  For me this is one of those times.  I will no longer support Alex Jones.

I came across another video of Mr. Jones explaining the meaning of COINTELPRO to his listening audience:
